How to Celebrate New Year's Eve at Glenwood Hot Springs

Ringing in the new year at Glenwood Hot Springs Resort is a year-end tradition that never gets old. Make it an all-day and all-night celebration with these insider New Year's Eve tips.

New Year's Eve at Glenwood Hot Springs Pool

New Year’s Eve at Glenwood Hot Springs is a singularly special day. It’s the one day of the year when the world-famous hot springs pool stays open until 1 a.m., welcoming guests to soak and celebrate. Filling the hours prior to the final countdown to 2019 is no problem either.

Start the day with a hearty breakfast. If you’re staying at the Glenwood Hot Springs Lodge, the morning meal is hot, delicious and included with your stay. Otherwise, grab a bite to eat at one of Glenwood’s favorite breakfast eateries: The Daily Bread, the 19th Street Diner, Rosi’s Little Bavarian Inn, the Village Inn or Sweet Coloradough.

Get outdoors. Chilly temps coupled with a little exercise is an invigorating combo. If skiing and snowboarding are in your plans, be sure to check out Glenwood Hot Springs’ value-packed Ski Swim Stay package. Other wintertime things-to-do in Glenwood Springs include taking a hike up Red Mountain or to Doc Holliday’s memorial marker in Linwood Cemetery. For a calorie-burning workout go snowshoeing or cross-country skiing on nearby trails. Snowmobiling is another option that is suitable for all fitness levels and abilities.

Take a nap. It’s going to be a late night; take a post-activity, afternoon snooze to ensure you’re in top form come midnight.

Make dinner special. It’s New Year’s Eve—splurge a little, try something different, create a new tradition. Most of the town’s best dining options are all close by—Barron’s at Hotel Colorado is just steps away and Glenwood’s “restaurant row” is an easy stroll over the pedestrian bridge. Whatever you’re craving, you’ll find something to satisfy, from steak to sushi and fine wine to craft beer. Plan to eat early, leaving plenty of time to digest and get back to the Glenwood Hot Springs Pool for a loaded schedule of New Year’s Eve fun!

Get the family-friendly party started. New Year’s Eve at Glenwood Hot Springs is a non-alcoholic event, making it a popular destination for families. To keep everyone entertained we’ve concocted some wild and crazy activities for all ages. Join the antics by participating or cheering on contestants.
