Glenwood Hot Springs Awards Three Higher Education Scholarships

Glenwood Hot Springs has selected three individuals to receive its annual Glenwood Hot Springs Higher Education Scholarship: Krysia Schneider, Christian Addie and Alison Brett. The $10,000 endowment which is distributed among the recipients will help pay for up to four years of post-secondary education.

Glenwood Springs, Colo. (April 29, 2016) – Glenwood Hot Springs has been invested in helping young people achieve their higher education dreams for over 20 years. The 2016 recipients of the Glenwood Hot Springs Higher Education Scholarship are Krysia Schneider, Christian Addie and Alison Brett, all residents of Glenwood Springs. They will each be pursuing a variety of higher educational opportunities.

 “Glenwood Hot Springs is pleased to be able to support and further the future professional goals of our local young adults through this scholarship,” said Kjell Mitchell, Chief Executive Officer and President for Glenwood Hot Springs. “On behalf of Glenwood Hot Springs, I wish Krysia, Christian and Alison the best of success with their future studies.”

Krysia Schneider, daughter of Joseph Schneider and Miranda Pingree, is a senior at Bridges High School in Carbondale. In the fall, she will be attending Utah State University in Logan, Utah, where she plans to study social work. Krysia has been employed at Glenwood Hot Springs since 2012, working as a pool attendant, and for the last two years as a lifeguard. She was granted a $4,800 scholarship.

Christian Addie, son of Steve and Fran Addie, graduated from Glenwood Springs High School in 2013. He is a current a student at Colorado Mountain College. His $4,800 scholarship will help him to continue his studies in business. In addition to attending school, Christian works at the front desk at the Glenwood Hot Springs Lodge.

Alison Brett is a native of the United Kingdom. She is a spa receptionist, the familiar face and voice welcoming guests at the Spa of Rockies. Her work at the Spa of the Rockies has inspired her to pursue further education in the healing arts. She will be taking online courses through the Aromahead Institute of Essential Oil Studies based in Sarasota, Florida. Alison received a one-time gift of $500.
